Essaouira, Morocco

On the coast of Morocco there is a peaceful and powerful city named Essaouira. It is filled with magical spirits and my senses became fully alive while I walked and felt the winds whip up off the sea. A Canary Current aides the locals creating a fishery by the southward movement of the ocean. It has long been considered one of the best anchorages of the Moroccan shoreline.

I photographed and then eventually etched one of the many hardworking and devoted fisherman from this breathtaking city.

The etching was published in the exhibition catalogue and included in the 33rd Mini Print International de Cadaqués, Barcelona, Spain.

Marrakech, Morocco

The Old Medina of Marrakech is filled with excitement and energy.  The awareness of sights, sounds, touch, tastes, and smells is fascinating and overwhelming almost all at once. A respite within it’s souks is vital. This kind Berber gentleman brought me some delicious tangerines and sweet mint tea to a table with a view of the wondrous surroundings before me.

My etching was included in the exhibition of the 33rd Mini Print International de Cadaqués, Barcelona, Spain.
